Counselling Approach
My approach to therapy is a humanistic, integrative relational approach. Therapy is designed to meet the emerging needs, desires and values of each client. My client and I begin building our relationship and working in a safe, confidential, nonjudgmental and supportive space. As trust develops within the relationship, client’s begin to explore deeper issues which are instrumental in their healing process. We review our work on a continuum; re-assess problems as the client’s needs and awareness change.
Clients are often initially referred to me for CBT. Through our work together as issues emerge we often agree to incorporate other interventions so that therapy can be tailored in accordance to the needs of each individual client. Though our work together, clients process many issues and develop skills and perspectives which enables them to cope with their issues more effectively as they move forward.
