Sessions
Trust, respect and the relationship between the client and therapist are core elements of the counselling process. Potential clients and I have an initial session to help both of us to determine if we can work together. If we agree to work together and in order to allow trust to develop, we usually agree to meet for six sessions and after that we have a
mutual review.
If a client does not find the relationship or the therapy helpful, or believe
that one or two sessions is all they require, they can decide not to make
another appointment with me without explanation .
Sessions last from 50 minutes to 1 hour.
When clients attend for EMDR therapy, there are stages in EMDR therapy where session length may be extended and fee structure altered by prior agreement by both client and therapist.
Cancellation policy
100% of fee if appointment is cancelled within 24 hours.
50% of fee if appointment is cancelled within 48 hours.
Issues arising from the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist
(including Doctors and Consultant Psychiatrists) remains between these parties
and not with the Alpha Counselling Centre.
